Hello, today is 12/08/09 and the Economy is in shambles. Regardless, my commute sucks. The drive from Santa Cruz mtns to 101/237 (35 min. w/o traffic) took 1.5 hours this sunny and cold am. According to KSCO the CHP appearently had closed a lane due to black ice. I didn't see a closed lane but all I saw were angry drivers in stop and go traffic. I guess I missed the closed lane but I sure as hell didn't miss the results of their actions. Thanks CHP for saving us from ourselves. Very F'n appreciated.
About 45 min. later, we angry drivers had to merge into the hell known as the South Bay Traffic Zone. This rag tag group of drivers has everything from your blue collared fellows to yuppy lawyers and business develoment types (all of whom drive German Cars) to the foreign drivers to the mom's driving their fat little kids to shool. Let's face it, these kids should be jogging and not adding their load to the traffic load (shame on you Moms).
I swear, the worst part of driving the hill is the South Bay. It's like playing golf, the closer you get to the hole aka work, the longer it takes. HWY 85 was a cluster f. at Fremont BLVD all the way to 101/237.
I have decided to work until 8 tonight in order to avoid the evening commute. My boss will think I am a good model employee (too bad the Co. is broke and we aren't getting raises...again). Maybe some of you executives can leave early for Golf or business drinks in order to lighten my drive home. kthnxbye.
